What is a good frosting recipe for Red velvet cake?

I usually do a buttercream frosting but someone complained that it was too sweet the last time.... :0(What is a good frosting recipe for Red velvet cake?
The original frosting for Red Velvet cake is:

5 T. flour

1 C. milk

1 C. sugar

1 t. vanilla

1 C. butter

Cook the milk and flour until it's thick paste and cool completely.

Beat the sugar, butter and vanilla until there are no sugar crystals and it is completely smooth. Beat in the cold flour mixture. What is a good frosting recipe for Red velvet cake?
Cream Cheese Icing

陆 pound (2 sticks) butter, room temp

2 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, room temp

2 pound confectioners' sugar, sifted

1 tsp pure vanilla extract

Ccombine the butter, cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, mixing just until smooth.

--Sugar Pie
Frosting:

4 ounces cream cheese, softened

4 tablespoons butter, softened

2 1/2 cups powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 to 1 1/2 tablespoons warm water

finely chopped pecans or coconut for topping, optional

In a mixing bowl with electric mixer, beat the softened cream cheese and butter together until blended. Slowly beat in the powdered sugar until smooth and creamy. Beat in 1 teaspoon of vanilla and enough of the warm water to make a soft, spreadable frosting.
The traditional frosting with Red Velvet Cake is cream-cheese frosting. I don't like Buttercream ever, because it's too fatty and sugary. Just beat softened cream cheese with powdered sugar and a little vanilla
Classically red velvet is best with cream-cheese frosting - I'm sure there are plenty of good ideas and recipes out there. And if you make carrot cake, you probably already have a recipe of your own!

Cheers

I don't have a recipe but I like creamcheese icing on red velvet cake.
