I'm going to make this very easy on you. It can be difficult to bake a cake unless you have ';all'; of the necessary baking tools to complete your task. And since many of us aren't professionals, let's keep it simple. (( KISS = Keep It Simple Stupid )) Ever hear that one? When I took Culinary in college, my teacher used it all of the time. Yup, I've got a culinary degree and I KISS and often as I can.

The first thing you want to do, is get a box of your favorite chocolate cake mix. I prefer ';Betty Crocker'; . Make sure you take a very good look at this recipe and follow it close.

1 Box of your favorite Chocolate Cake Mix

1 3.4 oz. Box of Banana Instant Pudding

3 Eggs

1 1/3 Cups Water

1/4 Cup Apple Sauce ((((**Instead of 1/2 cup of Oil**))))

1 Tub of Whipped Chocolate Fudge Frosting

1 Tub of Whipped Cream Cheese Frosting

1 Can of Bakers Joy Spray with Flour

1. Heat oven to 350*. Spray your baking pans. The whole thing, sides and the bottom. Use as much spray as you wish. Me? I honestly use enough to coat the entire pan.

2. Before mixing your eggs with everything. Please, break them seperately into a small white dish and make sure there is nothing wrong with the egg. I do this with every egg that I cook with. I break it into a small white dish to check for anything ';fishy';, if it doesn't look right, it get's tossed. I've had to toss a few eggs. I've broken some eggs that have come out red. So, please, always check your raw eggs before you add them to something.

3. Divide you Banana Pudding mix in half and set aside.

4. Mix all of your other ingredients. Make sure there are NO LUMPS. You're not making pancakes.

5. Now, go ahead and pour the [first half] of your cake.

6. Before pouring the second half, take the Banana Pudding mix and add it to the Cake Mix and mix it all up again. Again, make sure there are NO LUMPS. Now go ahead and pour it into your other pan.

If your oven is like mine, turn your cake every 10 minutes. This will ensure your cake will bake evenly. And by all means, do use toothpicks to make sure your cake is done. ((Two 8'; Rounds 29-34 minutes or Two 9'; Rounds 24-29 minutes))

When your cake is cooled, put your top piece on wax paper so it can slide off easily later.

Once your cake is done, and completely cooled. You're ready to do your crumb topping. This is fun.

If you want to write something on the cake. Use the chocolate frosting for the middle of the cake. If you're not planning on writing anything on the cake, which I never do, use the cream cheese frosting for the middle of the cake.

FROSTING YOUR CAKE:

1. Stir up your frosting really good.

2. All you're going to do is put a thin coat of frosting on both cakes. Whichever one is going to be the bottom piece, don't put frosting on the top of that one.

3. The piece that's going to be on top. Yes, put a coat of frosting on this piece. Oh, yes, you are putting frosting on the sides of these pieces as well.

4. When finished, put both cakes in the frig. over night. This is what's called your ';Crumb Coat';. This coat is going to set up and hold your crumbs in place. So that when you do your frosting, it's going to go on much easier without a bunch of crumbs.

THE NEXT DAY

5. Remove your cakes.

6. Whichever frosting you're using for your middle, go nuts with it on the top of the bottom piece. I usually do a one inch frosting.

7. Carefully slide your top piece onto your bottom piece.

8. Now frost your cake with your other frosting. Use as much frosting as you want to.

And by all means, take all the credit for this wonderful cake. Trust me, you're going to get a lot of compliments on it. I always do!!!!

It's so good, you're gonna want to slap yourself!!!! lol
