Hi, I'm trying to get a recipe for WHITE CAKE MIX. In other words all I need is just the dry ingredients like if I were to buy the mix from the store to use in a recipe. See I have a recipe for coconut cream cake it calls for 1 package of white cake mix, so I just need the recipe for the mix. Does anyone have a recipe for just the DRY mix for making a white cake? Hope my question made sense.Anyone have a recipe for white cake mix - I'm not talking about WHITE CAKE, I'm talking about just the dry mix
I think I understand what you want
it is depend on what you should add to the package when you buy it but in general they have
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1tablespoon baking powder
2 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 cup sugarAnyone have a recipe for white cake mix - I'm not talking about WHITE CAKE, I'm talking about just the dry mix
White Cake
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup milk
Take Steve G's recipe above and subtract the wet ingredient's and VOILA you have the dry ingredients!! (ie. flour, baking powder and sugar)
go to the store and buy the mix
* 7-1/2 cups sifted flour
* 1 Tbsp. salt
* 4-1/2 cups sugar
* 4 Tbsp. double acting baking powder
* 3/4 cup cold butter
PREPARATION:
In very large bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar and baking powder and mix well to blend. Cut the butter into small pieces and place on food processor bowl along with 2 cups of the flour mixture. Cover and process until mixture is very fine.
Add to remaining ingredients and stir well with wire whisk to blend.
Divide the cake mix into three equal portions (about 4 cups each) by lightly scooping the mix into measuring cups and leveling off with the back of a knife. Place each portion into a quart glass jar or heavy duty zip lock plastic bags. Cover tightly and store in the refrigerator for up to a month, or in the freezer for up to 3 months. Each portion of cake mix will make two 8'; cakes or one 13x9'; cake.
