I am looking for a dessert recipe that uses a yellow cake mix for the topping.?

I ate it at a church get together. I can't remember the other ingedients, but that cake mix baked on the top just stood out. I think it was in a 13 by 9 inch pan. Thanks to all who can help.I am looking for a dessert recipe that uses a yellow cake mix for the topping.?
Dump Cake


1 can cherry pie filling


1 can crushed pineapple w/juice, Mix together in bottom of ungreased 13 x 9 pan


Top with dry yellow cake mix, spread over top of fruit


Thinly slice 1 stick of butter and put all over the top of the dry cake mix


Sprinkle chopped pecans over the top

Dump Cake


1 cake mix


2 cans cherry pie filling


1 cup chopped pecans


1 cup melted butter


Pour filling into gresaed 13 x 9 pan. Sprinkle cake mix on top. Then sprinkle nuts on top of the cake mix. Drizzle the melted butter on top. Bake at 350 for 35 to 40 minutes.
It sounds like you are looking for a Dump Cake recipe. A Dump Cake is my specialty, as it is easy and good. Here it is:





1 14.5 oz. can crushed pineapple


1 14.5 oz. can cherry pie filling


1 7 or 8 oz. bag coconut


1 Butter Yellow cake mix


2 sticks butter


1/2 c chopped pecans





Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Use a 13x9 inch pan. Literally dump in the can of pineapple, not drained. You can spread it over the pan with a spoon, just to make it evenly distributed. Next dump in the cherry pie filling. Carefully try to evenly distribute it, but do not mix at all. Dump in the coconut. Spread evenly. Do not mix. Dump in the cake mix, and spread evenly. Do not mix. Cut butter into small pats, and place evenly over top of cake mix. Try your best to cover the cake mix as much as possible with the butter. Spread pecans evenly over top. Bake 45 minutes, or until top is golden and browned.





I have even lightened this recipe when desired by using I Can't Believe It's Not Butter, and Light Cherry Pie Filling. Some people play around with the fruits, too. Hope this is what you're looking for! If not, try it, it's great!!
I like to make peach cobbler with yellow cake mix...





1-2 large can(s) peaches


1 box yellow cake mix


1/2 to 1 stick butter





Pour peaches (and juice) in the bottom of a 9x13 pan. Dump yellow cake mix (dry) on top. Cut butter into chunks all over the top of the cake mix (use as much as you want). Bake 1/2 hour at 350.
Unfortunately, you don't say what was in the bottom part of the dish, so it's hard to define the recipe.





So, here's one of my favorites...I hope you like it, even if it's not the one you were looking for. My family calls it ';Pumpkin Cake';.





Process instructions for making custard based on one large can of pumpkin. Pour the custard into a 9 x 12 baking dish.





In a bowl, cut one cube of butter into one box yellow cake mix. Sprinkle on top of pumpkin custard. Bake at 350 for one hour or until cake mix begins to brown and custard is firm.
Maybe it was a dump cake .You take a lg. can of crushed pineapple,a can of cherry pie filling pour those into the 13x9 pan sprinkle the top with yellow cake mix and melt 1 stick of butter and drizzle over the top and bake @ 350 for 30 min. are until golden brown.

Ingredients:





3 lbs. meat (preferably pork), boiled and in small chunks, ground, or mashed


1 yellow cake mix


1 9'; pie shell


20 - 25 cooked chicken pieces


1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple, undrained


4 egg yolks


陆 to 1 cup meat broth


splash of red or white wine


2 cups TOTAL of raisins, minced figs and grated cheese, etc.


录 tsp. salt


录 tsp. pepper


2 Tbs. TOTAL of any of ginger, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, cardamom, cubebs, galingale, etc.


1/2 c. sugar


1 sm. pkg. instant vanilla pudding


1 c. coconut


1 (8 oz.) box whipped topping


1/2 c. chopped nuts





Make cake according to box. Heat pineapple and sugar together.





Mix pudding according to directions and add coconut; then spread over the pineapple.





Spread on whipped topping and sprinkle with nuts. Let stand in refrigerator 12-24 hours.





Mix well all ingredients except chicken. Place in pie shell and top with either a pastry lid or the cooked chicken pieces.





Bake in a 350掳 F oven for 45 minutes to an hour, or until the pastry is golden brown and the filling set.





Put Yellow Cake topping with pineapple on top of Meat Pie.





Serve.
