I am making a red velvet cake, and the recipe calls for vegtable oil,can i use butter instead?

i thought that butter will give the cake more moisture and it will give it more flavor.personally i prefer using butter instead of oil,so can i use butter?I am making a red velvet cake, and the recipe calls for vegtable oil,can i use butter instead?
Yes, but mix it really well with the sugar to break it up, then mix in the flour. This will prevent the butter from setting up and ruining your recipe.

However, you will have a moister cake from the oil than the butter.I am making a red velvet cake, and the recipe calls for vegtable oil,can i use butter instead?
You could just remember to melt the butter to remove the water in the butter. oil floats on water so you can skim off the butter or slowly evaporate the water by leaving the butter over low heat and watching it until it stops simmering. just watch it closely. Clarified butter will work.
